Assault in Bars or Nightclub
If you have be injured as a result of an assault in a pub or night club, whether by another patron or by a member of staff, you may have a case for personal injuries against the owners of the licensed premises.
The owners of licensed premises have a duty of care to patrons to do all that is reasonably possible to ensure their safety.
If you have been assaulted because of:
(A) clearly intoxicated or aggressive individuals were allowed to remain on the premise,
(B) the pub/night club was so over crowded that security staff could not ensure your safety,
(C) the pub/night club did not have sufficient security staff working so that your safety was ensured,
(D) you were assaulted by members of the staff,
you may have a case for personal injuries.
As with any injury you should immediately seek medical attention. You should also report the assault to the owners of the licensed premise and to the Gardaí. Once you have done this you should immediately organise a consultation with this office, so that we can ascertain whether the area where the assault occurred was covered by CCTV footage and if so, ensure that the footage is preserved. At Hanahoe and Hanahoe Solicitors LLP we appreciate that immediate action is required in such incidents and we guarantee a fast and efficient service to ensure that all the necessary evidence is collected immediately so that your Personal Injuries action is successful
